The Fire in Our Hearts
After years of work, I’m incredibly excited to share that our award-winning Canadian documentary The Fire in Our Hearts is coming to theatres this fall and will be in FORT ST JOHN on October 25 +28!
The film tells the remarkable true story of the southside community and the Cheslatta Carrier Nation across Francois Lake, who came together during the devastating 2018 wildfires to protect their homes, their land and one another. After the fires, the communty founded the Chinook Emergency Response Society that has now become a blueprint across Canada on how smaller communities can be more prepared and part of the solution when there are fires.
It’s a deeply personal story for me, as my own family and the community where I grew up are part of it.
We’re also bringing the film to Calgary, Vanderhoof, Cranbrook, Nanaimo, Penticton, West Kelowna, Houston, Burns Lake, Victoria, Kamloops, Williams Lake and Salmon Arm, with more locations to be announced.
